Instagram Round Up

It has been a hot minute since my last Instagram Round up, so I figured...what the heck...let's do one! I'm going to be sharing everything from cookbooks to beauty to rugs in this one, and of course fashion.

On a side note, I can't believe we are already wrapping up June and jumping in  July. But for real though, where did June go??

With that being said,  I am  looking forward to a long, holiday weekend.  BBQ, family time, and more BBQ is what's on the calendar for us!

Whatever your plans may be, stay safe, relax and have a great weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!

How I Manage My Oily Skin

Happy first day of summer!  I don't know about y'all, but here in Texas, it's felt like summer for a few months now!!!
To celebrate one of my favorite seasons, I wanted to talk about something I have struggled with for YEARS!  OILY SKIN!  Those who have it, know my struggle, especially during the summer time! It's one thing to walk around looking like you have a beautiful summer glow, but it's a whole new ball game when you look like you rubbed baby oil on your face. (this would be me)

Now, when I say that I have tried every product on the market...I mean it.  High end, drug store and everything in between!

I wanted to narrow down some of my tried and true products.  Now I know what works for me may not work for the next person, but if you have been struggling like I have, definitely give these products a try!  :) And please let me know what products work for you!  I'm always up for trying new things!

So once I wake up  and finish my morning skin care routine, I always finish off with this BB Cream / tinted sunscreen.  I LOVE this entire line so much!  What I love about this product is that it also has anti-aging benefits and dries to a matte (almost powdery) finish.  On days I'm just lounging around the house, this is all I wear.  It does not provide much coverage but the finish is beautiful and it leaves your skin immediately looking smooth and even! and lets face it, sunscreen is a MUST!

On days I'm wearing a full face of makeup, I use 3, yes THREE, primers!  Let me explain! haha!
No matter how much make up I am wearing that day, I ALWAYS use the Smashbox Primer Water.  Though it's not "mattifying", the way it leaves your skin feeling is worth it in itself.  I've gone through 3 bottles of it! It's packed with revitalizing electrolytes and leaves your skin looking refreshed and healthy.  For me, it helps prevent that "cake face" look and helps your foundation melt into your skin.  It's free of silicone, alcohol and oil so you don't have to worry about it making your skin look more oily, which some products can do. It simply makes my skin look more awake and healthy, which we all want!

After the primer water, I will apply the Benefit Matte Rescue Primer. I usually only use this product if I am going somewhere special or planning on taking pictures and need the "extra" help.  I really like the way it helps minimize my pores.  It also has a fancy "diamond powder", known for its soft-focus pore-blurring effect.  When I apply this, I put a small amount on my finger tips and dab it (almost like pushing) it into my skin where I have large pores.  Mainly on the apples of my cheeks and my nose. I also apply a little on my forehead, because I get really oily there too!

Last but not least, I will use the Soap & Glory - One Heck Of A Blot Primer. (I do let my primers soak in completely when using all three)
I've had this primer for a few weeks and REALLY like it.  I apply it to my T-Zone and like the benefit matte rescue primer, it helps minimize my pores.  But in addition, it also really helps smooth my skin and keeps me shine free throughout the day.  And at only $14, its "one heck of a" deal!!! (see what I did there)

Another product that I really like to use to help is the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder.  I usually just dust this all over after my foundation but if you really want to make your makeup bullet proof, flawless AND shine free, bake your face with this powder!  Seriously, it's a miracle worker.  If you don't know what "baking" is, as crazy as it sounds, it does work!  It's basically putting a s%*t ton of powder where you need it (my t zone) and letting it sit (or bake) for 10-15 minutes.  Then you dust it off and girl let me tell you......your makeup won't go anywhere and that oil won't be peeking through for HOURS!  I also use the "baking" method for my concealer under my eyes and it WILL NOT CREASE ALL.DAY.LONG!  But I like to use BÉSAME setting powder in Lavender for under my eyes.  Sephora has it in Lavender but it's not letting me link that color for some reason.

I will never, ever be without this product.  I have tried the De-Slick Oil Control Setting Spray from Urban Decay as well but I prefer the "all nighter" more.
It actually lowers the temperature of your makeup to keep your makeup in place  in all weather conditions. And we all know that hot and humid conditions are not ideal for oily skin.  It really does help your makeup stay on much much longer and if you are battling oily skin, you know the frustration of your makeup looking like it disappeared only after a couple hours.  This product is a MUST!  I can definitely tell a difference when I don't use it!

I hope this helped some of your stuggling like I have for years!  Again, if you have any secrets up your sleeve, PLEASE do share!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE trying new products!  Thanks again for stopping by!

Tassels, Tassels and more Tassels

Happy monday y'all!  Okay, so this spring/summer, I have been a sucker for anything with tassels!   these earrings are my absolute favorite and they even come in a really pretty turquoise option! I feel like they can take any outfit to the next level, you know what I mean!  And this bracelet, I swear goes with EVERY THING!  I really love the look of pairing a white top with white denim, but since I'm still so very pale, (insert rolling eyes) I decided to throw on this vest so I don't look tooooooo washed out! (must get a spray tan asap)  lol!  I've had this vest for a while from Target and couldn't find it online, but I'm linking SEVERAL similar ones below!

I hope you guys have a great week and thank you for stopping by!

Casual favorite

First off, I hope you all admire my daughter's artwork on our brick...there's a lot more where that came from.  She's such a little diva and she's really into dressing herself these days.
Here's one of her most recent outfit's she styled:

So between scrubbing chalk off our house and chasing a toddler around, we are ALWAYS on the go.  So everyday, when  getting ready,  I reach for easy, gotta get out the house in 5 attire.  I love this top from Express!  I love how you can wear it off the shoulder, off one shoulder....I just basically let it go where it wants to haha! I've always been a huge fan of Express and this top is really soft and comfy.  Just what I like! :)  I'm linking some similar shirts below because I don't think this "exact" one is currently in stock. They are all from the Express One Eleven line, just like the one I'm wearing.

I know it seems like I'm ALWAYS wearing this monogram necklace from BaubleBar and that's because I am!  LOL!  I love it!  I get asked a lot about  the sizing of this one, so here are the details:

14K Yellow Gold Plated Sterling Silver
Chain Length: 18 inches

I hope you all have a happy and blessed Thursday!  We are almost to the weekend!!!!!!
Thanks for stopping by!  I have all of Londyn's outfit details linked below.  I swear at least 10 people today stopped to tell her how cute she was dressed.  She was eating it up! :)

Red, White and Ruffles

Ruffled Top // Shorts // Necklaces Rayne  Pendant // Sunglasses ($12)  // Bracelets // Shoes // Wallet

Happy Sunday! So I was on the search for the perfect white shorts and these do not disappoint.  They are more "high waisted" but not "too high waisted" (if that makes any sense at all) so they pair PERFECTLY with this ruffled cami!   I've said it before...I have an extremely long torso, and this camisole hits me right above my waist line.  That's what makes these shorts even more belly showing!   Let's face it...walking around with my 2 year old at Target and my belly hanging out probably isn't the "best" look for me.  Don't get me wrong, some people can totally rock it and get away with it, but me...not so much.  But I love the tiered ruffles and flowiness of this top. Is "flowiness" a word?  Is that even how you spell it???  Anyways, I'm going to get a lot of wears out of this top, especially with  the hot, humid Texas heat. I absolutely love it!  And it's perfect for the beach or pool too!

I hope you guys are having a relaxing Sunday with your families!  Take care and as always, thank you so much for stopping by!

Beach Day!

She wanted to play instead of take a picture.....#toddlerlife

My Swim Suit:  Top (on sale) // Similar Bottoms
Londyn:  Hat // Cover Up // Swimsuit // Sunglasses

For months Londyn has been asking to go to the beach!  Last Tuesday, we finally got to go as a little family! My husband, Kenny has been working super long hours so we were excited he got Tuesday off and we were able to make a trip.  Quintana Beach is the beach I grew up going to so I was super excited to take Londyn there for her first beach trip. I love that they have showers, bathrooms, and little cabanas on the beach.  If you are from the Houston area, and haven't been, I highly recommend it. They also have a designated parking lot so you don't have to worry about cars driving up and down the beach. Londyn had SOOOO MUCH FUN! Oh my goodness! If it was up to her, we would have been there all day!  I just loved seeing her face light up.

I hope y'all have a great, happy, and safe weekend!  Thank you for stopping by!
Oh and happy #donutday! I hear donuts are calorie free when you eat them on Donut Day!! ;)
